Safety Milestones in PA

West Penn Power, Penelec, Met-Ed and Penn Power recognized employees in the following work groups for safety milestones:
West Penn Power
Receiving the President’s Safety Excellence Award:
- Waynesboro – Forty-seven employees celebrated two years without an OSHA recordable on Aug. 19.
- State College – The service center achieved one year of OSHA-free work on Aug. 28. There are 56 employees based at the site.
Bargaining-unit employees at West Penn Power are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 102.
Penelec
- Warren – The district’s 39 employees celebrated two years without an OSHA-recordable incident.
- Bradford – Sixteen employees were recognized for working OSHA free for two years.
- Altoona – Six employees in the project crew achieved one year without an OSHA recordable.
Bargaining-unit employees at Warren and Bradford are represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 459. UWUA Local 180 represents union employees at Altoona.
Met-Ed
- Boyertown – The service center achieved two years of OSHA-free work. There are 28 employees based at the site.
Bargaining-unit employees at Met-Ed are represented by IBEW Local 777.
Penn Power
- New Castle – Seven employees in Transmission at the site have worked 12 years without an OSHA recordable and three years without a CMVA. UWUA Local 140 represents union employees at New Castle.
