A group of Met-Ed employees spent Veterans Day volunteering at Valor Clinic-Paul’s House in Kunkletown, Pa. They sorted clothing and split firewood for the veteran residents. Participating were: Geneva Weiss, senior clerk; Ann Bartolacci, distribution designer; Sherry Miller, district storekeeper; Marissa Costa, distribution supervisor; Lewis Shattuck, distribution designer; Dwayne Motter, Regional Fleet & Facilities Services manager; Ken Boyce, senior tech specialist; Michael (Mick) Lucas, Regional Line supervisor; and Gary Mason, consultant, Regional External Affairs.

The FirstEnergy Foundation donated a $2,500 check to the York College Community Opportunity Scholarship Program. The organization helps local students to find opportunities to attend college regardless of financial circumstances and to promote and assist with career and leadership opportunities in the York community. Since the pandemic prevented an in-person presentation, the students shown created their own photo-op thanking the Foundation.

Joe Malda, consultant, Economic Development (l.), presented a $10,000 FirstEnergy Economic Development check to Mike Ross, president, Franklin County Area Development Corporation (FCADC), for its capital campaign. This was the final installment of a three-year commitment. Since 1986, the FCADC has facilitated more than 757 projects throughout the county. These projects have resulted in more than $2.1 billion in capital expenditures and have retained more than 48,000 jobs.
