Recognizing Our Line Workers’ Inspiring Efforts

April 16, 2020

Our lives have been upended in historic ways by the COVID-19 pandemic. With many Americans spending more time at home, reliable electric service at our customers’ homes is more important than ever.

April 18 is National Lineman Appreciation Day, and this year more than ever, we’d like to recognize these talented and committed essential employees, who are working through this crisis to keep our customers safe and comfortable.

As a special thank you to all of the nearly 2,500 line workers – and their families – at our 10 utility companies, we’ve created this video, to celebrate their inspiring dedication.

Here’s to a safe and rewarding National Lineman Appreciation Day!

FE Crew Featured in ‘Essential Worker’ Photos

National Lineman Appreciation Day came early for Ohio Edison employees Tim Zuchowski and Tom Geiger. Tim and Tom were on the job in the Akron area when they were approached by a local photographer. She snapped the accompanying photos as part of her Portraits of a Pandemic series highlighting workers providing essential services during the COVID-19 emergency. Based at the Fairlawn Service Center, Tim is a line leader and Tom is a lineman A.
