Fifteen Ohio Edison employees at North Jackson Line Shop have reached a noteworthy safety milestone: six years OSHA-free.
“Six years is a great accomplishment,” said Ed Shuttleworth, regional president, Ohio Edison. “North Jackson employees show a lot of personal pride and accountability when it comes to safety and actively engaging in safe behaviors.”
During the shop’s celebration event, Lineman Mark Young was also recognized as a member of Ohio Edison’s Quarter Century of Safety Club for achieving 26 years of OSHA-free performance.

Ohio Edison also celebrated the safety achievements of employees at Springfield Line Shop. Springfield’s 69 employees received the President’s Safety Excellence Award for working four consecutive years without an OSHA recordable. Fourteen employees also were recognized as members of the Quarter Century of Safety Club, having worked 25 years or more OSHA-free.
“Springfield employees are very deserving of this recognition, having committed to personal safety and safe behaviors for nearly half a decade,” Ed said. “To have 20% of staff demonstrate long-term adherence to safety practices as members of the Quarter Century Club is outstanding.”
