Representatives of FirstEnergy will be on the radio in Reading, Pa. this week, speaking about the career opportunities with Met-Ed.

External Affairs Consultant Jenn Rivera, PSI Workforce Development Representative Marisela Fuster and Met-Ed spokesperson Todd Meyers will be heard on Reading’s WXAC-FM from 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, during the program Latino Voice Live. The show – which was taped last week – is translated into Spanish, and is one of several Spanish-language programs on the station, which is operated by Albright College.

“We have an information session for our Power Systems Institute Lines and Substation programs coming up this Saturday at Reading Area Community College,” said Marisela, “The radio program was an opportunity to let the Latino community know about careers available at FirstEnergy, as well as to support our mission of diversity and inclusion.”

In addition to the PSI program, Jenn, Marisela and Todd discussed customer bill assistance, how to keep safe during winter storm outages and other topics of interest during the recorded session. Listeners also will hear from Joelia Welmaker, coordinator customer care from the Reading contact center, who spoke about bill assistance, and Weslie Booth, Met-Ed’s general manager, Regulated Operations Support, who talked about how the company prepares for storms and responds to outages.

More than 56% of Reading’s population is Latino, with 33.5% being of Puerto Rican descent.
