Helping Those Who Help Others

FirstEnergy provides community support in many ways – whether it’s funding from our FirstEnergy Foundation or the tireless efforts of our employee volunteers.

Here are two great examples of our company’s support of the Boy Scouts of America:

The FirstEnergy Foundation provided a $1,500 grant to the Boy Scouts of America, Patriots’ Path Council (Cedar Knolls, N.J.), for the Friend sponsorship at its annual Lifetime Achievement Awards Dinner.

To help a fellow Boy Scout Troop stay financially sound, Troop 177, charted to Holy Family Parish in Stow, Ohio, did what scouts do best: lent a helping hand to those in need. Led by Shaun Grayson, staff fuel specialist and Troop 177 scoutmaster, the scouts organized a pancake breakfast fundraiser and donated the proceeds ($1,000) to downtown Akron-based Troop 778, along with a fully stocked, handmade patrol box. Andrew Paisley, scoutmaster of Troop 778 and his senior youth leadership, accepted the gift and donation. In the photo, l.-r.: Shaun, Andrew and Troop 778 senior youth leaders.
