Met-Ed employees, family and friends, and members of the Reading Royals hockey team volunteered for a Thanksgiving food drive that benefitted The Salvation Army of Reading (TSA). As a result, 754 families (3,461 individuals) each received five bags of food and a turkey. The staff of Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation hosted this effort coordinated by Nancy Shurr, Energy Efficiency, and TSA Advisory Board member.

A group of Records and Information Compliance employees volunteered at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. The team spent the morning sorting and packing nonperishable foods, which resulted in 3,033 meals for local families in need. Michele Kradel, senior distribution associate, Penn Power, (second from r. with fellow volunteers) joined more than 3,000 people at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh for the Meals of Hope event benefitting the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The volunteers surpassed the event’s goal of packing 1 million meals.

Bruce Mansfield Plant held its annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner for residents of Shippingport, Pa. About 100 people attended and each family received a gift basket containing holiday kitchenware and a gift certificate.
