Employees at Ohio Edison’s Salem-Alliance Service Center received the President’s Safety Excellence Award. The group’s 96 members celebrated two years without an OSHA-recordable incident. The company also recognized nine Salem-Alliance employees as members of Ohio Edison’s Quarter Century of Safety Club for working OSHA-free for 25 years or more.

“We appreciate our Salem and Alliance employees’ continued commitment to working safely,” says Rich Sweeney, regional president, Ohio Edison. “Their achievement hits home – especially as we head into the holiday season.”

Salem’s bargaining-unit employees are represented by Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 118. International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local (IBEW) 1194 represents Alliance’s union employees.

Members of the Quarter Century of Safety Club at Salem-Alliance are (l. to r.) Melanie Gresh (30 years), Becky Crawford (37), Jeffrey Osterling (27), Richard Solomon (39), James Baranovich (41), Scott Williams (44), Victor Winn (28) and Steve Lauer (36). Not pictured is Darrell Baker (34).
