Great weather was a bonus for our employees during the 2021 Akron Heart Walk and Akron Equity March & Pride Festival events.

The 2021 Akron Heart Walk took place on Sept. 11, with approximately 1,000 attending the in-person event. To date, the American Heart Association has raised more than $310,000 and our FirstEnergy team of 30 walkers contributed more than $7,000 through the benefit walk. The campaign will remain open until the end of October for additional employee and Matching Gift donations.

More than 59 employees, along with their family members and friends, participated in the Akron Equity March & Pride Festival on Aug. 28. We were among an estimated 2,500 marchers, including members of our Alternate Current and MOSaic Employee Business​ Resource Groups (EBRGs). The FirstEnergy Foundation was a $5,000 event sponsor.
